README These Java Applications can be executed on any Windows, Mac, or Linux machine on which a version of Java is installed. When you download the software, the computer may give you a warning asking whether you want to keep the file for security. Select "Keep" or an equivalent option to download. I wrote the software but I do not know how to write a computer virus nor have I any intention to learn such a thing, so they are safe. These executable files are really small (about 200 kB) so memory is never a problem. You can run the Applications by simply double-clicking on the "jar" file. The Java Runtime environment in your computer will be activated and will display the graphical user interface on the desktop. These particular applications for the magnetic field of a current loop and of two parallel wires are fairly simple. The interface is intuitive and fully interactive so there is nothing new to learn to be able to use them. They are essentially interactive versions of textbook figures, where you can vary parameters over a wide range of values. Later on, we will introduce also applications which are much more complex. Some will provide tutorials where input paramaters can be adjusted essentially with no limitations. Others will be completely functional simulators but still quite easy to use.
